1. Confidentiality of Legal Information
As a licensed lawyer in Ontario, I have a professional obligation to keep all information you share with me confidential. This duty applies even if the information is not considered “personal information” under privacy laws and continues indefinitely, even after the lawyer-client relationship ends.
2. What Information I Collect
I collect personal information when you:
  • Submit a Contact Me form (e.g., your name, email, phone number, and message)
  • Submit a Will Request Form, which may include sensitive details such as your name, date of birth, family circumstances, and other information about your estate planning intentions
  • Email or call me directly
  • Retain me to provide legal services
I do not collect personal information through the real estate fee quote tool on my website.
3. How I Use Your Information
I use your personal information to:
  • Respond to your inquiries or requests
  • Contact you to follow up on your form submission
  • Evaluate your needs and determine whether I can assist you
  • Provide legal advice and services if you retain me
  • To satisfy land registry system requirements for real estate transactions

5. No Automatic Lawyer-Client Relationship
Please note: submitting a form or sending an email does not create a solicitor-client relationship. A lawyer-client relationship only begins after I have conducted a conflict check and you sign a retainer agreement with me.
Do not submit confidential or time-sensitive information unless and until we have established that relationship.
6. Retention and Protection of InformationI retain personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, or as required by the Law Society of Ontario. Client files are generally retained for at least six years after the matter is closed.
I use industry-standard safeguards and secure hosting to protect your information. Access is restricted to me and only for the purpose of providing legal services.
7. Hosting and Website Analytics
This website may collect general, anonymized data through tools like Google Analytics (e.g., pages visited, time spent on site, browser type), which helps improve user experience. No personally identifiable information is collected through analytics.
